13 Cuban interns get acquainted with the Don region. The first 3-hour excursion took place through the streets of Rostov-on-Don.
The participants of the excursion made a trip along the Rostov embankment, where they learned why Rostov residents affectionately call the Don-father the main river of the region, got acquainted with the Sholokhov heroes Nahalenka and Grandfather Shchukar and took a souvenir photo in a boat with Grigory and Aksinya. Going from the embankment to the monument «Rich well (Bogatyanovsky spring)» Cubans plunged into the history of Rostov.
The excursion continued in the Theater Square, on the way to which they made a stop near the main building of the Southern Federal University. One of their Cuban interns, Montejo Valdez Pablo, shared his impression of what he saw:
«It was very interesting to see the main building of SFedU. When we found out that we were going to Rostov, we started looking for information, and the search engine gave us a photo of the main building of SFedU, and now we have seen it! Its architecture is very impressive.»
The tour ended with a visit to the Left Bank embankment and the Rostov Arena stadium. The size of the stadium amazed the Cuban guests.
Despite the rather cold weather and the beginning of snow, our Cuban friends enjoyed the trip very much. After the tour, the Cubans had lunch in the canteen of the Southern Federal University. During the lunch they discussed what they had seen and shared their impressions.

Sabina Kerimova, Associate Professor at the International Institute of Interdisciplinary Education and Ibero-American Studies, conducted the tour for Cuban interns.
Продолжением экскурсии стало посещение Театральной площади, по дороге к которой сделали остановку около главного корпуса Южного федерального университета. Впечатлением от увиденного поделился один их кубинских стажеров, Монтехо Вальдес Пабло:
«Очень интересно было увидеть главный корпус ЮФУ. Когда мы узнали, что едем в Ростов, мы начали искать информацию, и поисковик выдал фото главного здания ЮФУ, а теперь мы увидели его вживую! Очень впечатляет его архитектура».
Закончилась экскурсия посещением набережной «Левый берег» и стадиона «Ростов-Арена», размеры которого поразила кубинских гостей.
Несмотря на достаточно холодную погоду и начавшийся снег наши кубинские друзья получили большое удовольствие от поездки. После экскурсии кубинцев ждал обед в столовой ЮФУ, во время которого они обсудили увиденное и поделились своими впечатлениями.
